Audition Information
This page outlines what you need to know about auditioning for Senior NYSA.
We like to meet candidates and hear them play in person, but we are also happy to accept DVDs as auditions.
An official accompanist will be provided at all live auditions.
Audition Repertoire
One piece of your choice. Preferably a piece that you are currently studying with your current teacher.
One study/etude of your choice from the standard repertoire or other technical exercises you using to develop your playing.
Two keys of scales of your own choice (you will be asked for scales, arpeggios and double stops).

Audition Dates
Auditions for Senior NYSA 2012 will be held at venues in Suffolk and London in December 2011. Confirmed audition dates will be posted on 1st September 2011.

Please note: there are no auditions for Intermediate NYSA. For this course, you need a playing standard of Grades 5 to 7 and you should be aged between 9 and 14. You will need to complete an Application form, available online ( see Documents section) together with a recommendation from your instrumental teacher.
