Summer Course 2010

When: Saturday 24th July to Tuesday 3rd August
Students are asked to arrive at Strathallan Schoool between 4pm and 5pm on Saturday 24th July. They will be free to leave after the final (evening) concert on Monday 2nd August. The course officially finishes after breakfast on Tuesday 3rd August.
Summer Concerts: Aberdeen International Youth Festival

Location: Strathallan School Forgandenny Perthshire PH2 9EG 24th July to 30th July and University of Aberdeen 30 July to 3rd August.

Through a carefully planned programme of sectional and full rehearsals, NYSA’s Senior Course sets out to help young players develop the special ensemble skills and techniques necessary to play successfully as a member of a chamber orchestra section. The aim is for each section to play “ as one”.

Major works in the String Orchestra repertoire, from the baroque era through to the present day, are selected for the various challenges they present; both technical and musical. Students work with professional string players whose careers have been spent performing these works all over the world.

Pastoral staff are always on hand in free time providing many different opportunities to relax.
